Special Notice – ATTENTION ALL BIDDERS:
When we started this company, we made a promise to ourselves, our clients and our buyers. That promise was to operate in a manner that was respectable, fair and in the best interest of all involved. We intend to keep that promise! As a previous buyer, I understand the frustrations of bidding against an auctioneer who bids frequently, at their own auctions. I also understand, as a previous buyer, a buyer like you at today’s auction, that bidding against the auctioneer is lop-sided from the start due to the fact that they have an instant advantage over any buyer in the crowd. Their advantage is equal to their commission and higher yet if that auctioneer utilizes a buyer’s fee. (This does not apply to auction company employees as they pay the same as you at checkout) For the reasons above and based on the idea that on occasion, Lisa or myself may have an interest in an item at one of our auctions for our personal use or for the business, I have implemented the following policy to be in effect at ALL of our auctions STARTING TODAY (6/12/10) : If Lisa or I have interest in, participate in the bidding and are the successful bidder on any items, we will donate an amount equal to our commission for those items to the charity of our client’s choice. This will be a constant in our contracts from here on. We will try to announce the charity chosen by the client at the beginning of each auction. Sincerely, Dave & Lisa |
