A little bit about my part in the whole scheme of things: I love my job...I really do. it has 2 main parts... 1) Our website 2) Chatting with everyone auction day. Meeting and greeting. Giving and getting hugs. What more can a gal ask for?? I get to be the computer geek that I am AND I get to talk and catch up with everyone as well as make new friends!! Ahh, La Dolce Vita!!
(October 8th)
On behalf of the Banister family I would like to send out a very heartfelt thank you to everyone who sent condolences, prayers and thoughts to David and his family. Dad will be missed greatly, loved always and forever in our hearts. Lisa Marie

I want to thank everyone for their get-well wishes! I seem to be doing better which is a nice change! Hopefully I will be at one of our auctions soon! I really miss seeing everyone!!!!! We have exciting auctions to schedule so, keep checking our site for details! Until then, stay happy, safe and cool!!!!! Lisa Marie
(May 31st ) Happy Tuesday! Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening! I hope this note finds everyone doing well. I hope everyone had a good but safe weekend! I am working on updating the web site, so I will put my notes on the back burner for now. We have a lot of auctions coming up. So, that means, I will be pretty busy with the website. I hope to see you all soon!! Have a great day/night! Lisa Marie

(April 19th) Happy Tuesday! Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening! I hope this note finds everyone doing well. *singing* It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas… Oh wait, it’s almost Easter. *singing* Here comes Peter Cottontail hopping down the bunny trail! I don’t know about you, but this weather is confusing. HA! :o) We have many exciting auctions to be scheduled. Keep checking our website for details! I’ll be working on the site over the next few days. Until then, stay warm, dry and safe on the roads. Have a great day/night! Lisa Marie
(March 22nd) Happy Tuesday! Can somebody please go over to Pennsylvania and bring that groundhog over here and ask him if this looks like Spring to him???? We are working on a number of auctions and will have them scheduled real soon. Coins, Estates, Antiques & Collectibles and more! Until then stay safe and warm! Oh and "Think Spring" just a tad bit harder!!!! :o) Have a great day/night! Lisa Marie
(February 13th) Happy Sunday! Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening! I hope this note finds everyone doing well. Wow, it's the middle of February already! Time flies! I feel like I was a bear in a past life life because all I want to do is hibernate until the Spring thaw!! Bring on the sunshine and warmth! I really hope that ground hog was serious about an early Spring. If he lied I swear I will never trust another ground hog again!! Ha! We do have a few auctions we are getting situated. Once everything is finalized we will be updating the schedule. Keep checking the schedule. Have a great day/night! Lisa Marie
(November 25th) Happy Thanksgiving! I want to start this note by saying I am honored and deeply moved that we were chosen to do the auction for the Estate of Mr. & Mrs. Isaac Stephenson III. That says a lot and means so very much to us! It is a definite "feel good" feeling! The comments of how beautiful the estate was displayed, how professional, informative and respectful the day was handled were sincerely appreciated. I will say, from start to finish it was quite the experience, to say the least! Here is an amazing, wonderful fact …we had our very first auction on November 21st of 2009. This past Saturday (November 20th) we offered the Estate of Mr. & Mrs. Isaac Stephenson III. Can anyone think of a more perfect way to end our first year? I will say it again, that says a lot and means so very much to us! All of the long hours and hard work is paying off. We thank all of you for making this a wonderful year!! (But hey!...we are not done with 2010 yet...we have 2 more auctions to go! Hope to see you there!) Have a safe and wonderful Holiday!! Lisa Marie
(November 23rd) Happy Tuesday! Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening! I hope this note finds everyone doing well. I will be updating my notes within a day or so. Stay tuned!! Have a great night! Lisa Marie
(November 16th) Happy Tuesday! Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening! I hope this note finds everyone doing well. I apologize for not typing more last night as I said I would. I was all set to come into the office and type but sort of got side-tracked by Magnum PI, Quincy and Simon & Simon! Yes, it turned into a couch potato zombie night for me. haha I was disappointed that we had to re-schedule the auction this past Saturday...but...understood as soon as I saw how severe the wind was. It literally lifted our son off the ground when he was trying to hold onto one of the tents. If you saw the picture of the lighthouse in the newspaper from Saturday you would know there was no safe way to continue with those winds coming right at us. When I showed up I did not go straight to the site. I was parked out in the cul-de-sac/court. It did not seem that bad to me until David took me back to the site. What a different world that was back there!! The waves were incredible! The wind was unbelievable! Mother Nature can really pack a punch at times! I am looking forward to seeing everyone this Saturday!...Indoors!! We will be working on getting the listings and photos of the upcoming auctions on the site as soon as we can! Have a great day/night! Lisa Marie
(November 15th) Happy Monday! Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening! I hope this note finds everyone doing well. Wow! Has it been busy! As you can see, we have the upcoming auctions page updated. We have options for you to follow us on Twitter and Facebook if the mood strikes you. I thought I had those accounts set up since March but found out I set them up in January! Time flies!!! I Haven't really posted that many updates on them but plan to now. I am thinking some behind the scenes updates and photos maybe?....we shall see. I need to cut this note short for now. I have a few things to take care of. I will type more this evening! Have a great day/night!! Lisa
As you can see from the website link here http://elmcrestacres.com/ , there is a new opportunity for fun and learning in the area! We recently completed an auction for the family and while there, were able to tour the new facility and see some of the various projects that will be the subject of the new classes. A lot of thought, hard work and skill went into the completion of the new school building and we’re sure you’ll enjoy every inch of it. Take a minute to read over the schedule and brochure, take the short ride just NE of Daggett, and enjoy a visit to the new Elmcrest Acres Folk School. If you have half as much fun out there as we did, you’re in for a great time! Tell them that Dave & Lisa, Roger and the crew at Banister Auction Services sent ya!!
(September 17th) Happy Friday evening! Wow! What a crazy couple of weeks it has been. I finally put one of the the highlight photos up, from the 9/11 auction. There are more to add and I will get to them soon. We were out of town for a few days packing up an estate to bring back here for an auction. How far out of town were we? About 10 miles from the southwestern shore of Lake Superior! Pretty sweet! Watch the auction schedule for a neat estate from the far-north Northwoods! Have a great day/night! Lisa
(September 13th) Happy Monday! Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening! I hope this note finds everyone doing well. Just an FYI...we have some incredible auctions coming up soon! I will update the Highlights page soon! Hope everyone is having a great day!!!! Lisa
(September 1st) Happy Wednesday! Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening! I hope this note finds everyone doing well. Well, I was given a message that my notes have been dearly missed. So, what I will do is catch that person up to speed on all that has been going on. Dear Richard, Here's a recap of past auctions: Cedar River auction was wet and wild...Lakewood auction was hot, hot, hot...and lots of fun. As for the Coleman auction, you will have to fill me in on that one since I was not there. I'll see you and everyone else at the next auction! Lisa P.S. Hi Fred, Flo and Sally! I will see you at the next auction!!
(July 9th) Happy Friday! Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening! I hope this note finds everyone doing well. That last auction we had still puts a smile on my face! What a great time that was. Over 500 people there. There were 5 acres set up for parking and that was filled. AND both sides of the road were filled with trucks, vans and cars... as far as the eyes could see! And what about our Kali??? Huh? You would normally see Kali clerking at our auctions...but at our last auction we all had the enjoyable pleasure of listening to her call bids!!! That was her very first time and she did a fantastic job!!! People said she did so good it was like she had been calling bids for years! Looking forward to hearing her call bids more!! I wish all of the best to Curtis and Dorothy. They are amazing people! I am looking forward to seeing them again soon! The next 2 auctions are going to be alot of fun and very exciting. Both properties are so peaceful and beautiful. I cannot wait to see who the lucky new owners will be. Plus there will be alot of nice personal property there as well. We are in the middle of getting some more auctions underway so keep checking the site. See you at our next auction!!! Have a great weekend, Lisa
(June 8th) Happy Tuesday! Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening! I hope this note finds everyone doing well! I am sorry I did not make the auction Sunday. A touch of bronchitis put me in bed for a bit. I heard the auction was lots of fun!! I wish I could have been there...but the antibiotics are doing their thing and I am getting myself ready for our Saturday Auction! I am really excited!!! I cannot wait! Hope to see you there! Keep checking the site because we have some really great auctions in the works!! *Note- I will be putting "my notes" section on the back burner for awhile. It is going to be getting pretty busy here with auctions and I want to focus all of my energy and attention on the upcoming auctions section, listings, photos and announcements from David, etc etc. Although, for those of you that know me, you know that if I do have something fun, special or exciting to say, I will definitely say it here! Have a great day/night, Lisa P.S. David gave me everyone's hello and get-well messages when he got home Sunday night. Thank you!
(May 18th) Happy Tuesday! Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening! I hope this note finds everyone doing well! I want to apologize for the delays with the updates of the website. I had a bad reaction to a medicine I was taking for multiple sclerosis. Along with that I had a slight fever off and on for a day or 2 that caused temporary paralysis on my right side. ..fever is definitely not a good thing for me! BUT all is well with the world! Tylenol works fast with fevers! As soon as the fever is gone the paralysis is gone! J Haha...I kind of remind myself of one of those fainting goats. They drop to the ground, out cold, then get up and go about their business til they drop again. Yes, I am laughing right now. The next time you see me, please do not scream at me to see if I faint...haha I will have photos for our upcoming auctions on the site soon. I will also have highlights, from our last auction, on the site soon! Have a great day/night! Lisa (May 3rd) Happy Monday! Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening! I hope this note finds everyone doing well! Yesterday's auction and leading up to it was a fascinating experience for me. The auction went so quick and so smooth. Before I knew it we were packing up and on our way out the door to enjoy a beautiful Sunday! That time really flew by fast. Thank you for coming to the auction! It definitely was a great time. Make sure you check out the highlights from it. Oh and Oh my gosh...did anyone have the breakfast buffet??? It was so delicious! Lois did a great job, as always, with the food! I told Lois I want to pack her up and take her to the on-site auctions with us. She is actually thinking about it! That puts a smile on my face and tummy! haha Also, Big hugs to Jerry Chuilli, of Chuilli's Auction Service LLC, for taking time out of his busy schedule to be here with us yesterday! I want to thank everyone for all of the compliments and kind words! What a great feeling! We have regular visitors on our site from all over the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Australia, Japan, Ireland, Switzerland, Russia, and others. Always exciting! We will be adding to the listing and photos for our May 15th Auction very soon. Have a great day/night! Lisa
(April 20th) Happy Tuesday! I am really excited about the next 2 auctions! There are some really exceptional items in both sales. Remember the May 2nd sale will be at the VFW and they will be serving breakfast along with their great lunch menu. Can't wait to see all of you there! Until then, enjoy the beautiful sunshine and warmer temps!! Have a great day! Lisa (April 1st) Happy Thursday Morning! Your shoe's untied...April Fool's!!! Yes, my inner child still loves April Fool's Day! heh heh David is busy organizing the things that will be in the next couple or few auctions. So, I figured I would get some website time in while he's doing that. With that said, if you see things appearing or disappearing from the site over the next few days it's just me working. Have a great day! Lisa (March 29th) Happy Monday Evening Everyone! Wow, last week flew by! I wanted to sit down and write some notes about our auction last Sunday and realized it was a week ago yesterday. Where did the week go? Not enough hours in the day!!! Anyway, back to last week's auction...What a great auction! We had 110 registered bidders, a diverse selection of things in the sale, and great food! Thank you to everyone that showed up! Also, thank you to the VFW for providing us with a great place and delicious food! I am getting spoiled!! J We had quite a few people show up at the past 2 auctions at around 8am. Just an "fyi" on the food situation at the VFW...I heard that they were thinking of putting a breakfast menu together along with their wonderful lunch menu. So, for those of you that get there early...can you smell the eggs and sausage cooking??? haha I love my job...I really do. it has 2 main parts... We are currently working on getting other auctions ready so keep checking the site for dates. Have a great night! Lisa (March 3rd) Happy Wednesday everyone! Apologies for not keeping this up to date. I had a few minor surgeries that took a bit of recovery time. All is good now. What a wonderful auction we had 2/21! We had over 100 registered bidders for that great sale. What a turn out! And how about that food huh? Absolutely great variety. They even had chicken noodle soup there...yum!! Right now we are getting the listing and photos up for our next auction on March 21st! It will be a large auction for the Estate of Victoria Nohlecheck. I can't wait to see all of you there!! Have a great day! Lisa (January 28th) Happy Thursday everyone! We hope everyone is enjoying 2010 and staying warm!
